In addition to the great performance benefits, the fact that the valve side of the rocker is longer, a larger diameter arc is followed as it moves up and down. This reduces side loading, friction and wear on the valve stems and guides. This is why many high revving NASCAR engines typically run very high rocker ratios of up to 2:1 or higher.

Our Mace rockers are still re-manufactured locally from GM LS factory rockers to ensure our customers are receiving quality Aussie performance products. The factory design was selected over an aftermarket unit because, arguably, they have never been known to fail. The over-engineered structure that GM modeled years ago, although made from stamped steel and slightly on the heavy side, is definitely a proven design. For the little extra material they carry, its without doubt, worth the factor of safety as a failed rocker is catastrophic. Evident with a quick Google search of aftermarket rocker failures.

To install our Mace high ratio rocker arms, all that is required is the removal of the rocker covers which will expose the standard 1.65:1 items. These are then removed and replaced with our performance 1.9:1 units!

Notes:

• High ratio rockers are not suitable for use with aftermarket cams. Excessive valve lift may cause engine damage.
• A higher rocker ratio will throw out your valve-train geometry, therefore pushrod length will need to be checked and a new length pushrod sourced to maintain adequate lifter preload. Theoretically, 8.15" pushrods will match a 1.9:1 ratio rocker on stock heads which are included in this kit.
• Valve spring upgrade recommended for high mileage engines or if revving past the factory limiter.
