This package consists of steel main cap girdle and ARP main stud kit and is designed to provide superior main cap torsional rigidity and load distribution for highly modified engines.
ARP – The world leader in fastener technology has released a new pro series main stud kit for Australian manufactured Ford 4.0L (XR6) Inline 6 cylinder applications. In conjunction with our main girdle, we're now including a set of 8740 main studs that are rated at 200,000 PSI, a set of 8740 chrome moly steel 12 point nuts, a serrated flange nut to secure the oil pick up tube to the main cap and a ½ oz pack of ARP ultra- torque fastener assembly lubricant.
The steel main cap girdle is designed to reduce "capwalk", stop block web flexing and eliminate cracking of the main caps/block webs, this is achieved by boxing in the main caps. Our heavy duty girdle evenly distributes load and dampens harmonics by bolting the main cap studs together to create a super strong rectangular cage. The brace nearly doubles the main web support area in the engine. Securing the loose end of the main studs provides stability unequalled even by a 4-bolt mains set up.
In addition, due to the proximity of the main stud girdle to the crankshaft and rods it also aids in stripping oil off of the crank, which in itself yields a net gain in HP.
Fabricated from 10mm thick high strength steel, this girdle is a must for high rpm/high horsepower applications where block rigidity is critical.
