Cold Air Intakes

Q. Just wondering with that CAI for the VS that replaces the original air box, what type of gains are we looking at? Just curious as I was thinking of getting one

A. In regards to gains you'd be looking at around the 5kw at the wheels mark+

Q.  With the cold air intake enclosures do I need to drill or make holes? Or will it slot into the original holes?

A. There is no need to drill into the body work as they are a bolt on affair

Q. Looking at the CAI’s, Apart from a replacement air box and filter, is anything else included?

A. Basically everything required for the installation is included in the kit, such as the hardware (bolts, brackets), in addition to the box and filter

Q. What type of filter is sold with the cold air intake package?

A. The type of filter that comes with the kit is a quality SAAS item

Q. What is the replacement air boxes constructed of?

A. The boxes are constructed from high strength ABS plastic (the same material bumper bars are made from).

Q.  In regards to the cold air intakes, is there a reason you’ve only made them for pods and not one for panel? I’m just a little put off by it being used with pod.

A. Pods flow better then panel filters, as the airflow is much more direct into the inlet tract/pipe, which is why we've designed our boxes around them. Unfortunately they've received a bit of a bad reputation only because people have installed them in the past without a box. Which of course allows it to easily suck in hot engine bay air.

Q. I want to get a VY V6 airbox setup and a bigger throttle body, do you recommend tunning them?

A. No need for tuning either of these mods for gains in performance

 Q. With your CAI is it hard to install?

A. Our CAI kits are easy to install, and would take about 1/2 hour to install if you took your time. Check out the fitting instructions section.

Q. With the CAI insulator for the charger, should I still be using a normal paper gasket, will I need two gaskets, or will this replace the gasket altogether?

A. No need to use gaskets as such, all you need to use is the insulator plate and sealant

Q. What sort of 'performance' benefits can be achieved with the CAI charger insulator on a stock L67. Keep in mind I have no intentions of ever intercooling it.

A. More power consistency than anything else (car drives much better more consistently), however some people have reported power gains but that would be more with the 25mm item. If you were to install the 6mm item on an aluminium intercooler plate then there would definitely be gains

Q. What is required to remove the lid from the air box, when doing filter cleans/changes, is it just screwed down?

A. The lid is screwed on the box
