03 VY S2 Did 25mm manifold spacer with 12mm plenum spacer at the same time as well as new injectors and PCV valve (should have just cleaned old one)Bit of a job and messy with all the gasket maker,but well worth the effort.Get a mate to help ya.Deffinate improvement on takeoff and economy,especially if you add spiralcore leads and iridium plugs!

A lot thicker then you expect. Give a week or two extra with ordering so you have time to paint it before you put it on. Colour it comes in is depression brown but colour doesn't matter when it's made so well.

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIT IF YOU HAVE BIG HANDS AND A SHORT TEMPER
took me a day to install, mainly because I dropped 2 elbows and the vacuum hose from the vacuum purge line, hardest part to install IMO.
Would take a competent person maybe an hour or two to install, easy straightforward instructions.
Used the whole tube of gasket sealer which made a fucking mess so use it properly and not like me, let it set for 24 hours or you’ll get a leak like I did.
Started it up, more growl and pops from the exhaust, gave it some revs and it CLIMBED so much quicker than it used to, so already some improvements
Took it out for a spin, the torque was noticible as it usually dies at around 3700, but it kept going until it hit limiter.
Went from a stop to 60 and you can really feel it dig in.
I highly recommend this using this product coupled with a plenum spacer.

I combined the manifold insulator and the plenium spacer to my 3.8 VX commodore. A good noticable difference in low down torque and engine appears to idle smoother. No other mods at this stage apart from K&N filter (standard airbox)
Happy enough that I purchased another set for my WH Statesman along with other performance gear.

I have noticed extra torque down low and the car is achieving more km's per tank of fuel, especially with towing.

If you drive for economy, you should notice a difference.

Incredibly good.
Had my VY since new and got used to it's behavior. But since installation of the Air intake manifold insulator, I Noticed much better low down torque, cooler plenum & air intake, and happier gear box changes!

I then combined it with a CAI, a larger throttle body, performance exhaust, plenum spacer and reprogrammed PCM. Higher performance plugs, leads and coil packs are also worth upgrading.

The end result was not just more power and a reasonable price, but better fuel economy at today's fuel prices.

Well made product, had to fine tune the insulator to suit plenum chamber/manifold & to fit GM metal shims for easier dismantle. Engine response quite well with low down torque & a bit more top end performance. Much cooler plenum chamber which is great for performance!
