On my VS Commodore wagon V6 Ecotec with T5 stickshift, adding the 69mm TB and matching memcal has had a MAJOR effect on performance and a 10% - 15% improvement in fuel economy.

Previously, I could only get 104kph pulling 0.4 bar vacuum. 0.4 bar vacuum is my personal limit without excessive fuel use. Now 0.4 bar vacuum gets me to 120kph!!

I have realized that the so-called Ecotec engine came from the factory with chronic asthma. And now it is cured!! I am getting a similar fuel economy to what my Buick-engined VR was getting after 450K km!! So may the fleas of a thousand camels infest the hairy armpits of the Ecotec engineers! I have wasted some $1500 in fuel, and the medicine to cure the asthma, in the 3½ years I have owned this vehicle.

I expect to pay off the cost of these items in 12 to 18 months. A great ROI! Not to mention that the engine is now much more flexible and tractable - just like the Buick engine in tje VR was.

WH Statesman 3.8ltr. There was a good noticable difference with down low excelleration. I dont rev my cars hard so not sure about high revs. Happy enough that I will be purchasing another one for my VX commodore.

I have ported heads,stage 2 cam,105 valve springs,double row timing chain,69m throttle body,pace make extractors,air box,so now of to the dyno,and talking to Steve and what I have I'm sure it's going to go good

Product did exactly as claimed Worked well in conjunction with reworked PCM and high ratio roller rockers
Motor was in good condition before these products were added
Noticeable improvement all round Fuel economy appears to be
somewhat better which is a bonus considering the performance gains for not much labour
Found Mace easy to deal with and no question went unanswered

Excellent product! Thanks for all the research and work you guys put into these upgrades!

Spend the money and get the PCM (computer throttle body tune) upgrade for your VY because these two go hand in hand.

First impressions heaps more bottom end torque and response in throttle throughout the rev range , No negative fuel consumption just alot more pleasant to drive. Freeway driving is smooth. I am also running a mace 25mm Spacer and throttle body memcal and found the car to respond heaps better in warmer weather (sluggishness gone) I recommend this product highly. Another quality Product from Mace.

Easy to Install, Instant throttle response. Slight improvement on fuel economy. Engine breathes better down low speed and top end. Very Happy with it!

I have noticed a increase in power and fuel savings.
Hardly have to touch the throttle to get to 60 or 80k with the memcal installed as well as the cold air intake.
I dont know why holden nerfed the throttle body, 7mm difference or close to it.

Noticed a big change in acceleration. Engine feels much smoother and much more "perky" definitely a great purchase!
Would recommend this item to anyone wanting to get that little bit more out of their V6.
Instructions a little out-dated and not 100% matching to a VX but simple enough for any level DIY enthusiast.

I installed this and the 12mm plenum spacer yesterday, and I'm very happy with the outcome. the motor feels a lot perkier now, more willing to go from the stand still. And on a side not e i found dealing with there customer support team a refreshing change they care about there customers which is not something you get a lot of any more. I'll be back and would recommend to a friend.

15 minute easy install, slight adjustment needed on idle screw, heaps more throttle response and a noticeable performance increase, works great, great product, fast postage and great service from mace, very happy, thank you.

The product works well for the motor I got more performance
and with a K&N air pod extractors with twin high flow cats 12mm spacer and more,, the power is sick for a v6 I now keep up with the turbos with the help of all the guys at MACE. thank you i can see my self adding more mods from u guys look in to roller rockers next :)

put it in today easy as installation for anybody, better engine note alongside extractors, high flow cat, and 2 and a 1/2" exhaust, noticed improved acceleration kinda took me by surprise lol, i did get the chip also so i recommend getting that also not smokin the tyres yet but a supercharger will do that

Hey guys,

Firstly I would like to thank you so much for the speedy sevice......This Throttle Body ROCK'S ....I installed it on Saturday despite the cold and rainy weather and I must andmit the difference once you step on the gas is amazing......You can feel the power gain...Having said this I installed the MEMCAL in the ECU aswell which I would recommend if you are upgrading to the 69mm Throttle Body .........Money well spent.... Cheers Tony

except for extractors my stock v6 ecotec now uses a fraction of pedal and runs like it should,,, i.e. with a cold air intake , throttle body , 25mm manifold gasket and chip ,,

I installed it on Tuesday after work (took 10 mins) and took it for a drive and noticed a massive difference the moment i touched the loud pedal just the smallest amount, you don't realize how restrictive the standard TB is until you put then together and compare the differences, the standard TB has a very bad design, I drove 220 kms on the open road on friday night and the over taking was good before but is bloody awesome now. next is the 1.9:1 rockers

i have had the bored out throttle body on for a week now and for a ecotec engine has alot more up and go compared to standard, would buy again :)
