These engine bearings exhibit a TriMetal™ bearing construction which employs a cast copper-lead intermediate layer and a steel backing that provides the best overall combination of all possible bearing properties. The vast majority of Clevite® engine bearings are of this type. In many cases, this material and construction duplicate Original Equipment specifications. Clevite® TriMetal™ engine bearings are an upgrade from a bimetal type used in Original Equipment.
