MACE ENGINEERING GROUP - WHERE PERFORMANCE MEETS RELIABILITY!
If your Supercharger is starting to get a bit noisy, it may have a broken or worn out Coupler. The Coupler it located behind the snout and it a transmission mechanism to convert drive from the supercharger pulley and shaft to the supercharger rotors.
This coupler is standard in all Eaton M90 superchargers and is made of Hard Composite Plastic material. Over time of use and expended energy this coupler can start to fatigue, break or wear out. These new Polyurethane Couplers are more maliable, flexible, and quieter. Because they are not as Rigid and Brittle as the Standard coupler they are surprisingly stronger and can help with noise and strength issues of standard couplers especially in high boost applications.
When broken or worn out you will notice and increase in noise from your supercharger and in most extreme case it may sound like rocks tumbling around. If this sounds like it may be happening to your supercharger you may want to replace the drive coupler. It's quick easy and low cost.
To install you will need to suck out the oil from the supercharger snout with a pump or syringe with a small hose attached. Once the oil has been sucked out undo the 10 Bolts on the Snout and the 1 Bolt holding it down to the Intake Manifold and remove the snout from the rotors. The coupler is located on the rear of the snout where the supercharger shaft coupling point is.
Remove the Original coupler and Install the New Coupler into place.
Refit the Snout, Refill the Supercharger oil , and your Done!
