Head bolts play a vital role in the sealing of the combustion chamber, oil/coolant channels and ambient air. Therefore, we recommend our Mahle cylinder head bolt set for the task. Having met and exceeded OEM specifications, these quality bolts are suited for standard and mildly modified applications. These are torque-to-yield (TTY) bolts which means they are designed to be tightened past their elastic limit, guaranteeing high and uniform clamping forces. Other benefits include pre-applied sealant to the threads eliminating the use of thread locker and no-retorquing is necessary after correct installation procedures have been followed.

These Mace MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) head gaskets are comprised of five layers of steel. The outer layers are an embossed viton coated stainless steel providing a superior seal with excellent rebound characteristics and corrosion resistance. MLS head gaskets reduce bore distortion and withstand extreme cylinder pressures. These can be used as standard replacement head gaskets but are more suited to higher calibre builds.

A surface finish of 50 RA (roughness average) or finer, is recommended on the head and block for a proper gasket seal. Anything rougher may conflict with the gasket design.

We have formed a series of high-performance camshaft and memcal packages for your VS.III and VT.I Holden 5L V8. Designed to deliver real-world horsepower gains of up to 35%, our cams are intended to wake your 304 right up and put the enjoyment back into driving.

 

Stage 3 Kit: Improved top end power 
This camshaft kit must be used in conjunction with a full free-flowing exhaust system and minor head work for maximum performance. It provides a power gain of 35% between 2000 and 6500rpm. Despite the excellent high-performance characteristics of this package, the engine remains tractable and responsive at low speed while adopting that old-school choppy idle. A standard torque converter can be used on automatic-equipped vehicles but we recommend a 2000rpm stall converter to enhance acceleration.

Stage 1

This cam is designed for use on totally stock heads and stock components up to 6000 rpm. It is recommended to upgrade valve springs to increase performance and allow shifting over 6000 where peak power is made. PCM programming required. Expect gains of 26-37kW depending on your car's current configuration.

 

Stage 2

This cam is designed for supercharged or nitrous applications on ecotec and L67 bottom ends. It produces the highest power and torque figures than any cam grind currently available with stock heads. An even smaller pulley can be used compared to CAM604. Peak power is 200rpm higher than CAM604. Upgraded valvetrain is mandatory (cam packages available through another ad). PCM programming required. Expect gains of 30-45kW depending on your car's current configuration.

 

Stage 3

This cam is not for the fainthearted! CAM606 was developed to maximize the HP of an L67 in an all out build i.e stroked, balanced, blueprinted, etc. CAM606 requires ported heads with machined valve guides and a complete valvetrain upgrade. Given the base circle diameter varies between lobes custom length pushrods are also required (cam packages available through another ad). PCM programming essential. No other cam makes the power of this cam in a 3.8L, period. Idle is similar to CAM605 with roughly 13 inches of vacuum. Expect gains of 40+kW depending on your car's current configuration.

Performance street/strip cam for modified engines. This cam was designed to squeeze the most out of your 3800cc Buick V6.
